Why I Became a MN Bankruptcy Attorney

I was born and raised in Bloomington, MN. My parents emigrated from Vietnam as part of the “boat people” and arrived in Minnesota in 1980. While they could have settled in another country, they waited a year to come to the United States because they believed in the “American Dream.” While things weren’t perfect, they were able to provide my siblings and me an opportunity to achieve a piece of that dream. With this opportunity, and in part because of my parents, I became an attorney.

My parents also instilled in me a great sense of empathy and what drew me to bankruptcy law was the idea of helping people. I understand that individuals considering bankruptcy are usually in a difficult point in their life. I want to be able to assist individuals with this process so they can reclaim a part of their life.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, two daughters, family and friends. I also enjoy cooking and learning new recipes, game nights, bar trivia, and occasionally exploring new coffee shops around the Twin Cities.
